As for Ariel Castro's chapter: I draw attention to the fact that the man who kidnapped and impregnated Amanda Berry appeared to have a doting attachment to the child he conceived with the girl against her will. He didn't abuse the girl, and she referred to him as "daddy," happily. It's possible that he really loved this little girl -- and given the idea that he treated Amanda Berry better than the other two captives, it's possible that he had a sort of fantasy of being a family with her. Nonetheless, sexual sadists of this nature tend to also condition young victims -- and that's something I fear Castro was doing with little Jocelyn -- the six-year-old child he fathered with Amanda Berry.
